When the weather gets nice the kids just want to play outside all day, especially on Saturdays. That’s totally okay with me, but sometimes they forget to grab something to eat in the afternoons. We make up a batch of these crunchy energy balls to keep them going all afternoon…
Ingredients:1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup finely grated carrots
1/4 cup good quality Granola
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1 Tablespoon your favorite honey (give or take, you can drizzle a little extra)
3 Tablespoons peanut butter (we use crunchy, but the recipes works with smooth PB too, or almond butter, or any nut butter!)
Step one: Combine all the ingredients in large bowl.
Step two: Roll into balls.
Step three: Store these in the cookie jar instead of cookies and let the family munch away.
This is a super easy and quick recipe so the kids can help out, but it’s also very healthy and pretty darn yummy.
